What's happening at Roy and Associates, PC in 2008 |
Due to the needs of its increasing client base, Roy and Associates, PC has sought additional senior management expertise to better service the needs of its existing clients. Accordingly, it is with great pleasure that we announce the newest corporate officer of the firm, Cynthia R. Tatusko-Boniecki, CPA. Cindy brings not only a wealth of experience, but a new and fresh approach to audit and accounting engagements to the firm. In that capacity, we have already initiated her participation in internal inspection and review procedures on audit and review engagements, and we look forward to introducing her to those of our audit and review clients where her expertise will be employed in the future. As corporate Vice-President, Cindy’s responsibilities will be as Senior Manager of Audit and Tax Services. In this position, she will join President/Managing Director Vance A. Roy, CPA, CSEP and Secretary/Treasurer Elizabeth D. Boyle, CPA, CSEP, who also serves in the role of Senior Manager of Audit and Tax Services, in governing the firm and providing future stability.
It has been an exciting time at Roy and Associates, PC during 2008 as we shape the future of the firm. Cindy is only the most recent addition to the staff, joining Kevin Shaw, Steve Remaley, and Katie Newcomer, all of which have been added in 2008. While Kevin brings years of corporate accounting experience and Steve brings individual income tax expertise to the firm, Katie brings more auditing experience to assist Cindy in her new position.

What's happened at Roy and Associates, PC in 2007 |
Vance A. Roy, Lee A. Matchett and Leslie G. Frusco would like to announce the merger of the firms Roy and Associates, PC, which traces its roots back to 1942, and Matchett, Frusco & Associates, PC, with origins that date to 1938. The new firm will continue under the name Roy and Associates, PC, with its main office at 4000 Hempfield Plaza Boulevard, Suite 991, Greensburg, PA 15601.
Vance will continue as Managing Partner of Roy and Associates, PC, while Lee and Leslie, the previous partners of Matchett, Frusco & Associates, PC, will reduce their active roll in the new firm resulting from the combined practices. Lee and Leslie will, however, remain of counsel to the new firm, and their experienced staff adds considerably to the available resources of the new firm. The combined staff will also include CPAs Elizabeth Boyle, Marsha Smolcic, Rachel Fritz and Cristina DeDiana, as well as experienced accounting staff members Thomas Hudson and Jeremy Reesey, together with experienced administrative staff members Janet Zimmerman and Martha Telford.
The merger is expected to be of benefit to the clients of both prior firms, not only because the two firms have both specialized in providing services to small businesses, but also because the strengths of the two prior firms compliment one another. Roy and Associates, PC has a well-established audit and accounting practice and has a history of providing business continuation and business valuation consulting services in addition to income and estate tax compliance and planning services. The staff from Matchett, Frusco & Associates, PC is not only well-versed on tax compliance, but is strong in tax research and tax planning, and their expertise also extends to inter-state tax issues, entity transitions due to reorganization, acquisition or divestiture, and IRS examinations and appeals. While existing clients of both prior firms will retain the same contacts and will experience no difference in the level or quality of services provided, these expanded resources will also be available to all current and future clients.

January 1, 2001 – Vance A. Roy, CPA, CSEP announces the founding of Roy and Associates, PC, a CPA firm dedicated to small business, small non-profit organizations and individuals. He will be joined in the firm by Elizabeth D. Boyle, CPA, CSEP, Judith Meyers, CPA, David Schwab and Janet Zimmerman, all former employees of Conti, Stewart, Roy and Associates, PC. The firm will be located at 550 East Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg, PA 15601.
November 1, 2001 – Roy and Associates, PC announces the relocation of its office to 986 Greengate North Plaza, Greensburg, PA 15601.
January 1, 2002 – Roy and Associates, PC announces the addition of Diane R. Namestka, CPA to its staff. Mrs. Namestka was a former employee of Conti, Stewart, Roy and Associates, PC, who had been working in the private sector for several years. She will devote most of her time to Auditing and Accounting.
January 1, 2006 – Roy and Associates, PC announces that although it has not relocated its office, the address has been changed to 4000 Hempfield Plaza Boulevard, Suite 991, Greensburg, PA 15601
September 10, 2007 – Roy and Associates, PC is pleased to announce the addition of Thomas H. Hudson to its staff. Mr. Hudson was a former employee of Conti, Stewart, Roy and Associates, PC, who had been working in the private sector for several years. He is to assume many of the duties of Judith Myers, CPA, who has previously left to accept a position in the private sector.
January 9, 2007 – Roy and Associates, PC announces the addition of Cristina DeDiana to its staff. Mrs. DeDiana, who has a Masters in Accounting, will be specializing in Auditing and Accounting, assuming many of the duties of Diane Namestka, who has left the firm to return to the private sector.
May 1, 2007 – Roy and Associates, PC announces that Tom Hudson has become a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor.
September 10, 2007 – Roy and Associates, PC announces the merger of its practice with Matchett, Frusco & Associates, PC, another long-established local CPA firm specializing in small business and individual clients. The expertise of the staff of the two predecessor firms complements one another and the Partners and Staff of the firms look forward to the additional resources that the merger will bring to the clients of both predecessors. All professional staff will be retained and the resulting firm will adopt the name of Roy and Associates, PC.
January 3, 2008 - Roy and Associates, PC announces the addition of Kevin Shaw to its staff. Kevin is a Penn State graduate with an extensive background in small business accounting in industry and public accounting. He brings additional internal accounting background experience that will be of value to the accounting departments of our small business clients, including considerable expertise in both QuickBooks and Peachtree accounting software.
February 7, 2008 - Roy and Associates, PC announces the addition of Steve Remaley to its staff. Steve is a recent graduate of Seton Hill University where he excelled in accounting. Steve will initially concentrate in individual taxation and tax research, but he is expected to add to the audit and accounting skills of the firm as well through internal training and client exposure.
March 7, 2008 - Roy and Associates, PC is pleased to announce the addition of Katie Newcomer to its staff. A graduate of Saint Vincent College, Katie brings with her not only excellent accounting and auditing training at a school known for such training, but nearly two years of invaluable accounting and auditing experience. This experience will add depth and new perspective to our audit staff. Katie is also expected to aid in the processing of individual income tax returns as needed due to past experience in that area as well.
June 23, 2008 - Roy and Associates, PC is excited to welcome Cynthia R. Tatusko-Boniecki, CPA to the firm as a Senior Manager of Audit and Tax Services. With 16 years of public accounting experience, Cindy brings a new and fresh approach to audit and accounting engagements of the firm. Well-versed in financial reporting of entities with subsidiary relationships and well-practiced in performing audit and accounting services in the industries in which Roy and Associates, PC provides similar services, her considerable experience as an audit manager adds immeasurably to the ability of the firm to provide expanded audit and accounting services to small business and nonprofit organizations. A member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of CPAs, as well as the Montana Society of CPAs, Cindy has over 9 years of experience in public accounting in Pennsylvania in addition to over 7 years of experience in public accounting in Montana. Although it is her experience as an audit manager that attracted the firm to Cindy initially, we welcome her desire to renew her involvement in income taxation as well. It is with pleasure that we announce her future role as one of the corporate officers of the firm.
